Vacation Rental Description
This cottage is named for the legendary \'Ohia trees which surround it. Each spring the Lehua blossoms brighten the forest of trees named for the ancient warrior once loved by the volcano goddess, Pele.
Maku\'u... Vacation Rentals in Paradise offers five comfortable, fully equipped cottages on the eastern, and more lush, side of the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii. Each is decorated with a Polynesian flavor. They are scattered across a six acre rural estate among graceful palms, tropical fruit trees and green lawns, just 20 miles south of Hilo.
It is centrally located, an excellent base for visiting the world\'s most active volcano, lovely botanical gardens, thermal hot ponds, black sand beaches, tropical beaches, spectacular waterfalls and much, much more. It is just minutes to picturesque lava cliffs perfect for whale watching and turtle sightings, to little known hiking trails, or to the historic village of Pahoa with its quaint shops and choice of ethnic restaurants.
Guests may enjoy the private tennis court, the saline lagoon pool, the gazebo and playground. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, ceiling fans and a private phone.
All linen is supplied. Most cottages have cable TV/DVD and Washer/Dryer. WiFi is available in several locations on the property. Cottages sleep two to five comfortably with king or queen sized beds, double size pull outs, and/or twin day beds. Children are very welcome. Sorry, no pets. You are very welcome to share ours. Smoking is only permitted outdoors.
